Michael T. Joliat concentrates his practice on municipal law, employment and labor law, real estate, workers compensation, personal injury, auto negligence and employment litigation.

Mr. Joliat graduated from General Motors Institute in 1975 and Detroit College of Law in 1980. In 1982, he left General Motors Corporation to become an assistant prosecutor for Genesee County. Two years later he was appointed assistant city attorney for the City of Flint and later was appointed City Attorney. In 1996 he returned to private practice working with Simen, Figura & Parker, P.L.C. in an ?of counsel? relationship until February 2001.

Mr. Joliat is licensed to practice in State and Federal Courts and is an active member of the Genesee County Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association and the Centennial American Inns of Court – an organization of lawyers and judges committed to ethics, excellence, civility, and professionalism in the practice of law. He is a certified instructor at the Flint Regional Police Academy where he is a frequent lecturer on the topics of the Use of Deadly Force and Domestic Violence Laws. He is a member of Holy Family Church and resides in Flint.
